The award-winning Bothell High School Jazz Ensemble program is a school experience for students concurrently enrolled in the school's traditional concert based ensembles. Students explore and develop skills in this uniquely American art form, which includes all styles of jazz music and improvisation. The Jazz Ensemble performs at school concerts, Northlake League jazz festivals and other festivals that may involve evening and weekend performances.

• 19th Annual Starbucks Hot Java Cool Jazz concert (Paramount Theater in Seattle; May 2014)

• 2014 AAAA 1st place @ Bellevue Jazz Festival

• 2014 AAAA 2nd place @ Jazz Northwest (Mead HS in Spokane)

• featured on KPLU School of Jazz 10th annual CD (2014)

• 2013 Sweepstakes Winner @ Jazz Northwest (Mead HS in Spokane)

Grades: (9), 10, 11, 12

Auditions are held early in the school year to determine Jazz 1 & Jazz 2 ensembles.

Prerequisite: Must be concurrently enrolled in the school’s band, orchestra or choral large ensemble class.
